Pixalrig is an independent UK gaming and technology website. This notice explains what personal information we collect through pixalrig.com, why we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. Our website and hosting services may also record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, time of access and pages requested, for security and reliable operation. We also store your cookie-consent choices.

Pixalrig does not currently offer visitor accounts or an email newsletter, and we do not collect payment-card details.

How and why we use your information

Cookies

Essential cookies may be used for security, site administration and remembering your cookie choices. Non-essential cookies will not be used unless you consent. With your consent, Pixalrig uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source and site interactions. Google may use analytics cookies or similar identifiers for this purpose. You can reject analytics or withdraw consent at any time through our cookie controls without losing access to the website. You can also control cookies in your browser settings. See the Google Privacy Policy for more information.

Planned Google display advertising — not currently active

Google AdSense display advertising is not currently enabled on Pixalrig. If we introduce it, we will update this notice and our consent controls before advertising starts.

Google and the advertising vendors we select may use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads. Depending on the choices you make, this may involve device and browser information, IP addresses, interactions with advertisements, and visits to this or other websites. Personalised ads may use previous visits and interests. Non-personalised ads use contextual information, but may still use cookies or identifiers for purposes such as limiting repeated ads and measuring their effectiveness; they are not automatically cookie-free.

Before activation, our consent controls will identify the advertising vendors and purposes and provide access to their privacy information. Where consent is required, you will be able to refuse non-essential advertising and analytics, choose available purposes, and change or withdraw your choices using the privacy and cookie settings control without losing access to our articles. Consent-based processing must stop when consent is withdrawn. You can also contact us about information collected under that consent, using the contact details below.

Google explains its processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and its Privacy Policy. You can review Google’s advertising preferences at My Ad Center. Those Google settings are separate from the consent choices available on Pixalrig.

Advertising providers may process information outside the UK. Before enabling advertising, we will disclose the selected providers, their relevant processing roles, retention arrangements and applicable international-transfer information. Existing hosting, contact, analytics, affiliate and community-voting disclosures elsewhere in this notice continue to apply.

Affiliate links and external websites

Some pages contain affiliate links to retailers including Amazon and eBay. If you follow one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, Pixalrig may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer may use cookies or other technology under its own privacy policy. Pixalrig does not receive your retailer account, order or payment-card information.

Other external links and embedded content may allow third-party sites to collect information as though you visited them directly. Please review their privacy information before providing personal details.

Who processes your information

We use trusted service providers only where needed to run the site and communicate with you. These currently include Krystal for website hosting, WordPress and necessary website plugins, Zoho for email delivery, and Google Analytics for consent-based website measurement. Providers may process information on our behalf, or where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some service providers or external retailers may process information outside the UK. Where we control that transfer, we require an appropriate legal safeguard. When you leave Pixalrig for another website, that organisation’s own terms and privacy notice apply.

Community voting

Community polls do not require an account, name or email address. When you vote, Pixalrig sets a random first-party browser identifier for up to one year. The server stores a one-way salted record combining that identifier with the poll so the same browser cannot vote twice. The raw identifier is not stored with the vote, and raw IP addresses are not kept as poll records. A short-lived technical rate-limit derived from connection information is used only to slow rapid automated submissions.

You can remove the browser identifier by clearing Pixalrig cookies in your browser. Clearing it does not remove an already-counted anonymous vote.

How long we keep information

Contact enquiries are normally kept for up to 24 months, unless we need them longer to resolve an ongoing matter or meet a legal obligation. Technical logs are kept for the period reasonably required for hosting, security and troubleshooting. Cookie-consent records are retained as needed to respect and demonstrate your choices.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase your information; restrict or object to its use; receive a portable copy; and withdraw consent. To make a request, please use our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO data protection complaints page for guidance.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Pixalrig is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our services or legal responsibilities change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
